Monthly Devotional

Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. (Psalm 69:17)

Flames engulfed the house and family members fled to the safety of the street. As firefighters aimed their water on the inferno, suddenly the frantic screams of a young girl trapped in an upstairs bedroom caught their attention. Ladders were raised and firefighters raced to the window where the girl was gasping from the smoke. With only moments to spare, she was grabbed and carried down to the waiting medical team.

David also knew what it was like to be in trouble and need deliverance quickly. King Saul was determined to kill him and pursued David relentlessly. His only way of escape was to call out to God. God faithfully responded when He heard David's cries of distress.

When we face trouble or difficult situations, we can be assured that our Father will hear our calls for help. He will provide the means of rescue and escape if we only have the faith to earnestly cry out to Him.
